The Toad Listens: Pain and Perspective (video, part 1)

Pain and Perspective video series: part one

Typically, the Joplin Toad takes an A-political stance; our goal is to lift up our community and the art and culture within it. During this sometimes troubling year, however, we felt the urge to do a new kind of series that we feel is based not on political issues, but human ones.

We interviewed 6 respected and kindhearted residents of Joplin Missouri, all of whom love their city, inviting them to lend their thoughts and stories about being a person of color in these times and in this place. This is the first chapter in that series.

Chapter 1: introductions

In this first segment, the interviewees introduce themselves, then answer 2 questions:

1: What do you love about Joplin?

2: How are you doing in the wake of this years’ events?
