on 6. 15. 2020, residents gathered in downtown Joplin Missouri for a solidarity walk to remember this event and many more recent ones. They gathered to recognize an ongoing systematic injustice and the desire to change it.
This post includes photos from the event, as well as a new song and interview from local band “Blister Soul”, whose aptly titled “2nd & Wall” is dedicated to fighting racism.
For so long you said "We better because of your skin."
Then you said "We hate you because of your skin"
Now you say "Allow amnesia to take its toll and forget you have melanin."
In other words, "Forget the history of your kin."
