Remembering Joplin’s past so we can build a better future

On 4. 15. 1903, residents gathered in downtown Joplin Missouri to Lynch a young black man.

on 6. 15. 2020, residents gathered in downtown Joplin Missouri at the same spot, for a solidarity walk to remember this event and many more since, locally and nationally. The people gathered to recognize an ongoing systematic injustice and the desire to change it. They gathered in peace, power, and prayer.

This feature includes photos from the event, as well as a new song from and interview with local band “Blister Soul”, whose aptly titled “2nd & Wall” is dedicated to acknowledging our past and fighting racism in our future.
